Chapter 339: Is the Sky on Fire?
Little Treasure had a large bump on his head and wore a despondent expression as he gazed at the sky, watching something fall. He looked like he had given up on life.
He felt that he had hit rock bottom. Not only was he attacked right after waking up, but his Beast Master was suddenly nowhere to be found. After searching for a long time and just moving to this spot, he got hit again.
Suddenly, something caught Little Treasure’s attention.
"Xun--"
Huh? What’s that? It looks so familiar...
"Yun yun!"
---
How did Little Treasure end up there?Qiao Sang was utterly baffled. Looking at the situation, why did it seem like Little Treasure had collided mid-air with Stronghold Sky Owl?
Normally, given the difference in size between Little Treasure and the Stronghold Sky Owl, along with i\'s usual flight speed, such an incident would never occur.
However, if Stronghold Sky Owl was in the middle of an acceleration and Little Treasure suddenly appeared, the collision could indeed cause both to lose balance temporarily.
After all, according to the momentum theorem, when a 0.45 kg small flying-type pet beast collides with an 800 km/h large flying-type pet beast, the impact force would be 153 kg. On the other hand, if a 7 kg medium-sized flying-type pet beast collides with a 960 km/h large flying-type pet beast, the impact force could reach 144 tons.
In short, the faster the speed, the greater the impact force.
This also explains why flying-type pet beasts take some recoil damage when using Brave Bird Rush.
Qiao Sang took a deep breath. Although she didn’t know why Little Treasure had suddenly collided with the Stronghold Sky Owl, this was an opportunity!
"Meteor Rain!" She commanded.
"Yaap!"
Yabao let out an excited cry and prepared to unleash his ultimate move.
"Tab."
Tablema picked up its pocket watch with its paw, intending to stop them.
"If you don’t go save your Beast Master now, he might not make it." Qiao Sang pointed behind Tablema.
Tablema looked puzzled as it turned its head.
The next second, it was so frightened that it disappeared on the spot, teleporting toward its Beast Master.
"Tab!"
"Yabao." Qiao Sang called again.
"Yaap!" Yabao responded, understanding her intent, and rushed toward the spot where Stronghold Sky Owl and Little Treasure were falling.
Because they were so high up, Zhang Rongtang and the others were still far from the ground despite falling for ages.
Yabao reached the point where Stronghold Sky Owl and Little Treasure had collided, lifted his head, opened his mouth, and unleashed a terrifying red energy ball filled with destructive power. The ball soared majestically into the black night sky.
Meanwhile, Qiao Sang waved her hand, retrieving Little Treasure into her Beastmaster Codex.
Before Stronghold Sky Owl could recover from the impact, now was the perfect moment to attack!
The red energy ball rose to a sufficient height before exploding spectacularly, transforming into countless flames that cascaded down like a fiery rainstorm.
Amid this brilliant display, Qiao Sang and Yabao stood motionless, exuding a sense of calm.
Zhang Rongtang opened his eyes, only to witness this stunning scene.
The visual impact was so overwhelming that he felt like he was about to be consumed by the fiery rainstorm. His pupils dilated in shock, and he was utterly stunned.
Damn! Is this the end of the world?!
It wasn’t surprising that Zhang Rongtang didn’t immediately recognize this move as Meteor Rain.
First, he had only ever seen the move from an observer’s perspective, never while being inside the storm of flames.
Second, the range of this fiery rain was absurdly massive, giving the impression that the heavens were truly raining fire. Normal Meteor Rains could never achieve this effect!
In truth, not just Zhang Rongtang, Qiao Sang was also a little stunned.
Thanks to the insane training regimen of chugging energy recovery potions as if they were water, Yabao had mastered the ultimate form of Meteor Rain.
Qiao Sang had witnessed the power of this move during training, but it was nowhere near as terrifying as it was now.
Who would have thought that merely evolving into a high-level pet beast would exponentially amplify its strength?!
At this rate, winning the senior high division championship in the National Campus Beast Mastering League was practically guaranteed. Qiao Sang barely resisted the urge to burst into triumphant laughter.
Just then, she noticed their altitude steadily dropping.
"Why are we descending? Let’s wait for the Meteor Rain to end before going dow." She said, puzzled.
"Yaaap..."
Yabao looked embarrassed.
He’s almost out of energy...
Qiao Sang: !!!
Wait, so this insane Meteor Rain was you burning through all your energy?!
No, calm down.
Considering how long Yabao had been fighting, using multiple high-level skills earlier, it was already impressive that his energy lasted this long.
However, Lubao could only restore his state, not replenish his energy. Even if he drank energy recovery potions now, he would only regain a small fraction of his energy, as the potions she bought weren’t high-grade enough to work well for advanced pet beasts.
Without energy, Yabao was out of combat power.
Lubao couldn’t afford to get injured either.
It seemed she’d have to rely on Little Treasure. Hopefully, he could pull through...
As Qiao Sang pondered, Tablema was busy teleporting its Beast Master away from the falling fiery rain.
Stronghold Sky Owl wasn’t so lucky. Halfway through its descent, it regained consciousness, only to see the overwhelming fire. Terrified, it flapped its wings frantically, but the earlier collision had left it in a weakened state.
Its massive size made it an easy target for the dense flames, which repeatedly struck its body.
"Zhuang!"
Its pained cries echoed through the night as it plummeted to the ground, unconscious.
---
In a dimly lit area with scattered streetlights, factory buildings loomed in the shadows.
"You kids these days are so bold, huh? Wandering near the cemetery at night!" A young policeman in uniform swung his flashlight around while walking, accompanied by a Magnemouse whose tail emitted a faint glow.
Beside him were several other officers holding flashlights.
"If someone wants to contract a wild pet beast, let them. Why do you kids have to meddle?" The young officer grumbled.
"Enough. This isn’t about contracting a wild pet beast." An older officer interjected.
"A girl stayed behind to stop the contract and ended up alone with the guy. Who knows what he might do to her just to succeed?"
"Come on, what kind of wild pet beast is worth breaking the law for?" The young officer retorted before turning to Wu Chang, who had remained silent.
"And why didn’t you report the wild beast to the patrol department? Don’t you know how dangerous they are?"
Wu Chang replied calmly, "My parents are divorced. I don’t live with them."
The young officer: !!!
Feeling a pang of guilt, he opened his mouth to apologize, but before he could, a female officer flew over on a Fat Dove and excitedly pointed in a direction.
"Look over there!"
Everyone turned in unison.
For a moment, silence enveloped them. It was as if they’d forgotten to breathe.
What... is that?!
Is the sky on fire?!
At that moment, Wu Chang suddenly broke his silence, exclaiming excitedly, "That’s it! We need to hurry! They’re still fighting!"
All the officers: !!!
