Chapter 726 - Who Am I to You In Your Heart

“...” Lu Bai’s eyes twitched. He had not expected them to have progressed to this stage.

However, Huo Chen does have a reason to help them willingly with that.

This was not something that he could simply join in and turned away with a snort. “No shame!”

Huo Chen suppressed the slight discomfort in him and looked at Wen He.

Wen He too had looked over at the same time and as their gaze met, she smiled at him. She purposely threw a seductive glance at him.

“Right, hubby?”

Huo Chen calmly looked away and refocused on Lu Bai.

“Then, may our cooperation be fruitful.”

“May it be so.”

Lu Bai pouted and with Wen He’s gaze hounding at him, he shook Huo Chen’s hands.

Wen He and Huo Chen stayed on for another half an hour and noticed at Lu Bai was getting sleepy. Therefore, both of them left the medical room and slowly walked out.

Wen He turned about and looked at him, “You sure are something, I knew Xiao Bai for so long already, and even I had no confidence in convincing him, but you did it with just a few words.”

Huo Chen said without looking over, “It’s thanks to you.”

Due to her trust in him, it had somewhat affected Lu Bai.

“Is that so.”

She held onto his arm and smiled wide. “You’re my hubby, I of course believe you!”

Huo Chen’s expression did not change but there was a gentle glint in his gaze.

Suddenly, he felt Wen He suddenly tripped and nearly fell. He reflexively extended his arm out and easily grabbed onto her thin waist.

“Be careful.”

“I’m fine. Just a rock.”

Wen He laid in huo Chen’s arm, her eyes closed as she wrapped her arms around his muscular waist.

She looked up and stared at his cold hard face. She blinked as she suddenly recalled something and pouted.

“Answer me, why did you do nothing the last time?”

That incident was making knots all around her heart.

Huo Chen pushed her away, and admonished, “Stand properly.”

“Answer me first!”

Wen He’s gaze caught a few other soldiers stopping as they listened in with a cheeky grin on their faces.

“Tell me, or I’ll kiss you again.”

“...”

Huo Chen frowned. “Well, aren’t you rescued now?”

He was right.

Wen He too was not the calculative type and was convinced. She let him go before clutching onto his arm instead.

“I just know that you won’t be so mean to me. Right, that shitty commander actually told me that you had married me just to lure me in here, and to get both me and Xiao Bai in one fell swoop. I’m sure he was lying to me, and trying to pry us apart isn’t he?”

Huo Chen frowned harder.

He never thought that Commander Yang would stoop this low and actually brought something like that out.

He had no mind to explain and replied plainly. “I did not do that. It’s up to you if you want to believe me or not.”

“Don’t let your thoughts run wild now. I did not doubt you.”

A tinge of guilty conscience welled up as she said that. She did doubt him before.

If not for Huo Chen appearing, she would really fall into the abyss and hate him to his bones.

She hugged his arm even tighter as she thought of that. Even as she looked up at him, she could not read anything from his cold expression.

Even when something had happened between them, he still treated her like a stranger.

And without any warning, a tinge of pain came from the depth of her heart.

Wen He bit her lips and her expression turned gloomy.

“Huo Chen.”

“Yes?”

“Who am I to you in your heart?”
